I’m Blue and this is me and Bird, my man, on our wedding day 10 years ago:

Of course I don’t look as youthful as that anymore, but there’s a good reason…

Meet my children, Sun and Shine, when they were but a few minutes old:

Now Sun is 4 and he’s just about the cheekiest monkey out there, and Shine has just turned 2 and most of the time appears as if butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth. Don’t be fooled by appearances though, Sun can be the sweetest boy alive and Shine can scream the house down when she wants to!

More often than not they look like this – a constant blur of movement as they race about life together, apart, together again.

That was them a couple of months ago on holiday in Sydney. Now I live in Hitchin, a pretty market town just north of London.

The backstory?

I was born and raised in Sydney, Australia and a small part of me will always call Australia ‘home’. As soon as I could, the day after my final exams to be precise, I boarded a plane and left in search of adventure. After spinning around the globe for a few years I met Bird. My best friend, my husband, my man, my absolute rock. We travelled about together, settled down and got married on the cliffs one sunny day. Then along came Sun and Shine and here we find ourselves living in the UK.

The photos don’t all match, they’re not perfectly styled but that’s life. You change, you move, you grow.

This blog is my witterings. Navigating maternal guilt. Sharing culinary ups and downs. Recording my children’s lives. Trying to make sense of it all and taking a lot of photos along the way.
