Yesterday I saw this tweet:
“You don’t have to find words – just read, & pass on the link. Everybody should read this piece. http://thetim.es/LGeHOb #Syria #StopTheKilling”
I clicked the link and read the article and was moved to tears. It was an article in The Times detailing the murders of children in Houla one week ago today.
If you haven’t read the article then please, please take a minute to read it:
I don’t feel I have a lot of power to stop atrocities like this occurring, and I know I don’t have thousands of readers to reach with this post but I have one voice and I can use it. To do nothing would be wrong. I may have one reader who doesn’t know what is happening and who wants to say this is NOT OKAY and that they care that this is happening.
Join me in adding your voice to the protest against what is happening in Syria.
– Sign these petitions: Save the Children, Amnesty International and Avaaz
– Tweet about it using the hashtags #stopthekilling, #tippingpoint and #syria
– If you have a blog, write a post and join voices with Mumsnet Bloggers and Britmums
– Attend the protest at the Syrian Embassy on Sunday 10th June (12-2pm)
Whatever you do, please don’t do nothing.
