We kept celebrations for Shine’s 2nd birthday very low key. We had a lunch and a cake with family last weekend as Bird is away for her actual birthday today. I went with what Shine loves most – sparkles, stars and roses…
I made a cake…which looks a bit like a wedding cake but hey ho, it was delish and next year I might have a 3 year old telling me what cake she wants…
Shine was totally amazed by the sparklers. For a second it looked certain she was going to burst into tears…
She came through the sparklers though and we moved on to candles and coaxing into blowing them out which she, of course, was hesitant about at first but then thought it was the best thing ever.
Happy birthday, Shine! We did the same idea for second birthday too– low key and family only. Such a far cry from the first birthday! 😀
Oh my gosh!! I think I shed a tear…she is so cute and getting so big! Happy Birthday lil S!
Cake envy!!!! But inspired..love the roses. My daughter is 4 in June need cake ideas 🙂
Was the easiest cake decorating ever. I used Jo Wheatley’s vanilla Easter cake from What’s Cooking as inspiration. And lots of buttercream, can’t go wrong with loads of butter & sugar can you?! 🙂
