How Does Your Garden Grow?

Peas and strawberries in the gardenFor the first time in my life I have managed to grow things in my garden. I can’t believe my life has been without this magic for so long. It’s addictive.

Strawberry and little gardener

We started out by planting some strawberries, tomatoes, peas and herbs and after weeks of nothing happening, seemingly overnight, we have fruit and vegetables. It really does feel like a miracle and I’m astounded each and every time a new shoot springs forth.

I was hoping to have a Pimms to celebrate and honour our first strawberries but a certain little lady got to them before me. It would appear even the unripened ones were too much to resist.

I’m joining in with Mammasaurus and peeking at how everyone’s gardens grow, picking up any tips along the way and admiring the flowers!

  1. Oooo Pimms! Seriously those strawberries look to be doing well, well till they got munched. I’ve only got a little tomato plant this year but I am buzzing seeing the flowers on it already!

    Thanks for sharing x

    • The tomatoes are in a hanging basket so should be safely out of reach of my little garden gnome. No flowers yet I don’t think… *wanders off in search of flower buds*

  2. I am a clumsy gardener, but I loved growing herbs (lavender and rosemary particularly) and roses. By the time the kids are a bit older, you may be a real expert, and can give them each a little garden so they can grow wallflowers and cornflowers and nasturtiums and the easy things…What I always have difficulty with is Sunflowers, the slugs get them every time, but I don’t like using pesticides, and salt always seems to get those nice little coloured snails…
