Here’s a quick look at what I’ve been loving this week.
Read – I’m reading The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. It’s a book you can really settle down with and get to know as it’s quite long. I’m about halfway through and really intrigued to see what’s going to become of the main character, Theo.
Watched – Firmly hooked on The Great British Bake Off and already anticipating the loss I’ll feel when it ends in a couple of weeks time. I’ve been baking along but have to say, much as I’m enjoying this season, I haven’t felt as inspired to bake along every week. Probably a good thing for my waistline!
Wore – Feeling chilly this week and a shoe disaster when I was out meant I had to buy a new pair of boots on the spot. Loving my new tan ankle boots and thinking they’ll get plenty of wear over the season ahead. Also my little girl made me a necklace at nursery this week and I’ve been wearing it as a bracelet. I might look nuts wearing it but when I look at it I’m reminded of her happy little face and the look of utter pride on her face when she gave it to me and I first put it on. Ahhhh.
Heard – I listened to Ben Howard performing live his entire new album on Radio 1 this week (Link for those in the UK). LOVE the new single, Conrad, and love Ben Howard so I was a happy chica. Just got to wait about a month I think until it’s released. *Taps fingers impatiently*.
Made – I’m making a new blanket! It’s the first I’ve made for myself and I’m loving the process as much as I’ll love the finished product I hope. Super busy this week but it’s so lovely to take 15 minutes out and do nothing but wind wool in and out and in and out. Bliss.
And lastly – I’m so proud of my little boy. He’s dealing really well with having his arm in a cast after he broke it 3 weeks ago. He got a new cast on this week and was pretty pleased with his new ‘Spider-Man arm’. It’s been tough for him to kerb his instinct to climb all over everything and run here there and everywhere. He begged me to let him do a spot of one-armed break dancing tonight after getting his spellings all right, and I gave in. It was on a soft rug though, promise!
Bless him, glad he is doing well! Also starting a blanket this month 🙂
I had no idea that Ben Howard’s new album had been featured on Radio 1. I absolutely love him so will definitely be checking it out (and then buying the album when it’s released!)
Loving the ‘spiderman arm’ -I’m not surprised that you’re proud of him, it sounds like he’s dealt with it all really well xx
I’m so glad he’s doing well with his cast. That’s one thing we haven’t had here yet. Do you hear me knocking on wood? 🙂
